Abstract

The work force in February 2019 was 1,416.2 thousand people, up 18.9 thousand compared to February 2018.

The population working in Kalimantan Tengah in February 2019 was 1,369.0 thousand people, an increase of 16.2 thousand compared to February 2018.

The February 2019 Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) was 3.33 percent, up by 0.15 points compared to February 2018.

In February 2019, the main jobs were mostly in the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries sector (38.11 percent), the Large Trade and Retail sector, Car and Motorcycle Repair (16.86 percent), and Government Administration, Defense and Social Security (7.90 percent).

In February 2019, 45.30 percent of the population worked in formal activities and 54.70 percent of the population worked in informal activities. During the past year (February 2018-February 2019) formal workers rose 0.38 points while informal workers dropped 0.38 points.

In February 2019, there were 26.81 percent of the population working not full (working hours less than 35 hours a week). Of these non-full workers, 6.70 percent were half unemployed and 20.11 percent were part-time workers. In the past year, half the unemployed rose by 0.64 points, while part-time workers dropped by 3.75 points.
