Abstract

Farmers Terms of Trade (FTT) is a comparison of the price index received by farmers (It) to the price index paid by farmers (Ib).

FTT is one indicator to see the level of ability/purchasing power of farmers in rural areas. FTT also shows the exchange power (terms of trade) of agricultural products with goods and services consumed as well as for production costs.

Kalimantan Tengah's combined FTT in June 2023 fell by 3.13 percent compared to May 2023, namely from 118.98 to 115.25. This decrease was caused by a decrease in the exchange rate in several sub-sectors, namely smallholder plantation crops (5.43 percent), fisheries (0.80 percent), and food crops (0.03 percent).

Meanwhile, livestock and horticulture experienced an increase in exchange rates, respectively by 2.29 percent and 0.66 percent.

In June 2023 there was an increase in the Household Consumption Index in Kalimantan Tengah by 0.42 percent which was mainly due to an increase in the price index for the food, beverage and tobacco group (0.75 percent), the food and beverage/restaurant supply group (0.75 percent), 39 percent), the equipment, equipment and household routine maintenance group (0.25 percent) and the recreation, sports and culture group (0.25 percent).

Similar to the FTT, the Kalimantan Tengah Agricultural Household Business Exchange Rate in June 2023 also decreased by 2.73 percent, from 119.99 (May 2023) to 116.71 (June 2023).
