Abstract

In March 2023, the level of inequality in Kalimantan Tengah's population was measured by the Gini Ratio of 0.317. This figure increased by 0.008 points compared to the Gini Ratio in September 2022 which was 0.309 and decreased by 0.002 points from the Gini Ratio in March 2022.

The Gini Ratio in urban areas in March 2023 was recorded at 0.335, an increase compared to the Gini Ratio in September 2022 which was 0.332, but decreased compared to the Gini Ratio in March 2022 (0.348).

The Gini Ratio in rural areas in March 2023 was recorded at 0.298, an increase compared to the September 2022 Gini Ratio of 0.285 and also an increase compared to the March 2022 Gini Ratio of 0.292.

Based on the World Bank's measure of inequality, the distribution of expenditure in the bottom 40 percent is 21.08 percent. This means that population spending in March 2023 is in the category of low inequality.

If broken down by region, in urban areas it was recorded at 19.49 percent and in rural areas it was 22.40 percent, which also means that it belongs to the low inequality category.
